I always imagined bear cubs to be feisty little fur balls (with sharp teeth and claws, no less), but we also know from extensive experience that London based producer Bearcubs’ sound is quite the opposite of those preconceptions. His electronica and soul is dreamy and syrupy, ridged and textured, like James Blake’s post-dubstep fused with Tom Misch jazzy electro-soul and Mount Kimbie’s glitchy electronica. We get a prime exhibit of his musical prowess on intoxicating new single Landslide, the second song revealed from his forthcoming debut album Ultraviolet, due out March 2nd. The dub heavy, heady hypnotic track takes us on a voyage of late night introspection, drizzled with dusky beats and taut strings. Pre-order Bearcubs’ new album, here. Catch him on his tour this March, which includes a show at 1015 Folsom in San Francisco on March 15th.

Across the pond we go to visit with Bearcubs, the production project helmed by Jack Ritchie who’s enthralled us many a time with his dynamic electronica. He returns to our open arms with Do You Feel, a finespun electronic soul and downtempo electronic gem whose gossamer touch and rich steely sonics are like James Blake melded into Caribou with some Jamie xx. We “feel” plenty as we lose ourselves in this sweet piece and its gauzy soulful vocals. Do You Feel is the first single from Bearcubs’ debut album Ultraviolet, due out March 2nd next year. Pre-order the album, here. Stream/download Do You Feel, here.

British producer Bearcubs, aka Jack Ritchie, is gearing up for the release of a brand new EP named Chroma in November. On the heels of the title track comes new reveal Sirens Calling, a warped and distorted dance track with ornately spun elements. Sirens Calling calls us into its alt R&B and electro soul heart of darkness, accented with jagged breaking garage beats and woozy slinking bass. Bearcubs channels some James Blake and Jamie xx influence in this mesmeric piece. Pre-order Bearcubs Chroma EP ahead of its November 4th release date, here. Stream its haunting opaque, nebulous spacious title track below.

Atone is the graceful and elegant lead single from SLO’s upcoming second EP. In case you need a refresher despite her well received first EP, SLO is a project created by London based singer songwriter Jess Mills. Jess is remarkably skilled when it comes to forging and delivering beautifully lush yet spaciously minimalist electropop meets R&B pop. Atone also sees her collaborating with British production act Bearcubs, or Zero 7′s Henry Binns and The Nextmen’s Brad Ellis. This superb combo affords us a gorgeous cascade of feathery entrancing, coolly soothing sonic bliss. As if SLO isn’t already an astonishing feat already, Jess Mills has also wrote singles with Gorgon City, Joe Goddard, and many others.

Gavin James is a rising Irish singer songwriter who’s making quite a splash across the bond and poised to do the same here in the US very shortly. The future star’s soulful sound lends itself perfectly to a remix by British producer Bearcubs, who turns his song For You into a luxurious and sensual future soul heart stopper. It’s near impossible not to get lost in the folds of this sublimely smooth yet heart melting dance remix.

British producer Bearcubs is back with a stunning new track named Paper Walls. He infuses it with plenty of his signature hypnotic future garage styled minimalist production and soulful, intimate vocals. James Blake like wobbling post-dubstep like qualities mix with Burial and Four Tet like sparse and skittering percussion. The dark and haunting electronic track is proof again of Bearcubs’ song crafting brilliance. The new single will be out APril 20th via Love & Other.

It’s only been a couple days since I shared an amazing remix of British producer Bearcubs’ Touch by OBESØN, but add this remix to the list of stunning listens, too. Network is an 18 year old British producer signed to Ministry Of Sound, and his version of Touch is effervescently gorgeous and dreamy. He transforms the song into a highly textured, buzzy, balmy adventure, reminding me of some of Caribou’s music and detailed complexity. Network’s remix is part of an impressive remix package featuring Panda, Klaves, and OBESØN on label Love & Other.

Get ready to be swept away with music euphoria by this new remix of British producer Bearcubs’ already amazing song Touch, by Toronto producer OBESØN. The introspective nature of the ambient original stays unchanged on the gripping remix, but OBESØN gives it a spacious, heady infusion of mellow future bass that takes into far darker, haunting territory.
