Aside from his collaboration with King Henry and a welcome guest cameo on Odesza’s Corners Of The Earth off their hit sophomore album Meridian, Los Angeles based Australian artist RY X has also spellbound us with his beautiful song Bad Love this year. If you missed out on that exquisitely haunting, immensely heartrending beauty previously, you can watch its video below. RY X has since shared an immense remix of Bad Love by a project named Eagles & Butterflies, and it’s quite the mesmeric electronic approach on the pensive billowing song. Dusky shuddering, shadowy shuffling beats permeate the deep ambient and rapturously atmospheric electronic edit, raising goosebumps on my skin and delivering me into the arms of tech inflected ecstasy. Australian singer songwriter and musician RY X has reigned over our hearts ever since we stumbled upon his melancholic stirring single Berlin over four years ago, and we’ve fervidly taken in whatever he’s released since, whether as RY X or as a part of the collective The Acid. I’m still rather crestfallen that I had to miss RY X when he toured to San Francisco recently. By all accounts, it was a magically intimate show. But I’m much elated that he’s released a stunning new video for a gorgeously haunting new song named Bad Love. It’s the first single he’s released since he dropped debut album Dawn in spring of 2016. Bad Love is a chiffon gliding, morose drifting ballad. Its anguish and poignancy are incredibly tangible, and its atmospheric constitution is unimaginably moving. RY X co-directed the video for Bad Love with Irrum, and it’s quite the wondrous visual accompaniment, set in a lush jungle. Ry, who’s now based out of LA, will play a string of European live shows this spring, many of them alongside each respective cities’ premier orchestras. Find out more on RY X’s website, here.

Jazz Morley is a singer songwriter from the UK, and aside from having an marvelous name for a musician, she’s also incredibly haunting on her latest song, Bad Love. The mellifluous lull of its tender keys and her gentle cooing melt away every bit of the heart’s armor, then its feathery soul and cool electronic pop invade its core, sublimely aligning with the very doubts and apprehension that at times, confound and fluster us all. Bad Love, which was produced by oft IHM praised producer Draper, is elegant and touching, fleecy and rousing, a bittersweet concoction with Jessie Ware, Monogem, and Shura like hues.

I’m glad I was keyed into this new music video from Summer Camp, because their song Bad Love slipped my notice previously. The British duo are absolutely hooking on the infectious and radiant guitar pop song. Bad Love is the title track from their upcoming album, out May 26th via Moshi Moshi. The retro pop song is drenched in sunshine and sweet nostalgia.

Caitlyn Scarlett’s smoky vocals immediately reminded me of one rising Los Angeles star named BANKS. The young UK artist’s debut single Bad Love starts out very soulful, slinking along seductively with hints of folk and alt dark pop, but then the heavy, guttural bass hits, and the song just takes off. The genre blending song even reminds me at times of Tennessee singer songwriter Meg Myers and her passionate, ghoulish rock music. The mesmerizing, powerful song is off Caitlyn Scarlett’s forthcoming EP Jurassic Jukebox and Other Drugs. I’m looking forward to hearing more.
