Late last year, mysterious new production talent Snugs made his debut with an ear turning, feet moving future bass ditty named Radio Silence, featuring honey-dipped vocals by HAILZ. It was a song that made waves in the electronic scene, racking up well over a million streams via Proximity’s label. Now, Snugs is back with warm synths, playful arpeggios, and punchy beats on another resplendent tune named Flooded, and this time around, he’s brought LA based pop singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Axel Mansoor in tow on buttery vocals. Flooded is a flood of future funky ecstasy, a flashy sleek, swanky hot banger appropriate for some snug dancing with that crush you’re so sweet on. Flight Facilities meets Duke Dumont on the sizzling tune. Stream/purchase this ace second offering from Snugs, here.

We’re not the only ones who have fallen hard for Axel Mansoor’s indie pop these past couple of years. His debut single Wasted My Love instantly hit #5 on the US Spotify Viral chart before becoming a staple on KCRW radio. The spell he’s cast on us has only grown stronger with every new release, too. The LA based singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who’s lived in 6 different countries across 4 continents, having grown up in Belgium, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Mauritius, and the Philippines before landing in the US, renews his hold on our hearts with his most recent single, Talk To Me. It’s a dulcet glimmering, lavish stirring ballad propelled by airy guitars, atmospheric synths, and Mansoor’s silky cooing. Heart nuzzling Talk To Me is accompanied by a vertical music video, a heartwarming and intimate peep into Axel Mansoor’s world. Watch the video below. Download and alternate streaming options are available, here.

If we still lived in the 80′s and everything was on cassette tapes or VHS tapes, you’d want to “hit rewind” and take in the infectious and nostalgic indie pop from this song over and over again, even if you have to go the old school route and use a pencil or pen to do so. Those of you who are too young to know what I’m talking about, don’t worry about it, just soak in the cruising vibes and summery charm of Axel Mansoor’s new collaboration with producer Louis Vivet. Hit Rewind is a spry dashing pop song and an endearing love letter to the pair’s shared home of Los Angeles. A woozy pensive bridge adds to the song’s dynamic allure, giving us a dreamy wafting departure from its usual brisk and youthful dance pop zest. Hit Rewind is a free download, here.

Los Angeles based singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Axel Mansoor is growing to be quite a force to be reckoned with ever since he made his debut with Wasted My Love and set our hearts afire with his tender melting R&B pop and chill funk. Now another rising SoCal artist, production auteur Dulsae, has taken that debut and crafted an absolutely gorgeous electronic remix out of it. Dulsae’s future bass edit takes us on an epic journey with exhilarating crests and ambient rolling valleys. It’s a breathtaking, wondrous beauty of a re-work that confirms that my love for both these artists has not been “wasted”. The remix is a free download, here.

Los Angeles based singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Axel Mansoor might as well have taken an ax to our hearts with his new pop gem Out Of My Head. We’ve known since debut single Wasted My Love that he can vaporize said instruments of love with his fleecy stirring, silky eloquent R&B pop, yet we still weren’t quite prepared for this. Second single Out Of My Head is a milky heartrender on which frisky guitar strums tango cheek to cheek with Axel Mansoor’s buttery falsettos. Agile and clever lyricism lend themselves fully to the paradoxical effect of the song. Instead of “out of my head”, Axel Mansoor has delved deeply into our heads and our battered hearts too. Out Of My Head is impossible to eradicate once heard. I can’t imagine a single rational reason to desire to do so anyway. Axel Mansoor explains that Out Of My Head revolves around transformation and healing. For all its poignant curls, Axel Mansoor’s Out Of My Head leaves us in hopeful spirits as it endeavors to liberate us from past afflictions and old sorrows. For at least a moment, it succeeds. Out Of My Head is available as a free download, here.

Two plus years ago, Axel Mansoor lent his vocals to Royal’s Devil Pt. 1, and I was immediately drawn to his voice. This week, the Los Angeles based singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist graces us with that satin soulful voice once again on his first official single, Wasted My Love. On Soundcloud, Axel Mansoor describes his music as “floating somewhere in the triangle of chill, funk, and fresh.” Wasted My Love truly floats… It hovers and flutters as it suffuses us with tender melting R&B pop much endowed with said chill funk. The breakup ballad that Axel Mansoor gives us is a seamless confluence of plush electronica and spindly acoustics. Wasted My Love, produced and mixed by Koresma, is mesmeric tapping and dulcet enthralling. You can download the song for free, here.

That dude Royal is just killing it these days. We recently found out that the Washington, DC producer is one part of emerging electronic act SoySauce, and now, today, he’s dropped his debut EP, Cycles. We’ve already heard a couple of the producer’s “conscious pop” tunes off the release in past months, including cinematic opener Passenger and bubbling hit Round Two, which features Desktop. Stream EP track Devil Pt. 1, featuring Axel Mansoor, and get ready for the soulful vocals, smoothly buoyant beats, intoxicating synths, and sparkling pop melody take you far, far away. Stream the fantastic EP in full, here.
