This song more than kind of rules, so now that there’s a video featuring footage of Night Terrors of 1927 and track guests Tegan and Sara, we’re going to watch and listen again. The Los Angeles band really crafted a catchy, anthemic hit in When You Were Mine, and enlisting Canadian twins Tegan and Sara for massive guest vocals? Genius! It nearly beats out Night Terrors’ Dust and Bones as my top favorite song from them. Almost. When You Were Mine is on Night Terrors of 1927’s Anything To Anyone EP, but it will also be on their new full length, Everything’s Coming Up Roses, when it comes out on January 20 via Atlantic Records.

Los Angeles musician Jaymes Young is king of the mountain in my books when it comes to utterly brilliant and superb re-imaginings of songs, considering the amazing job he did on his track Habits Of My Heart earlier this year, a complete re-working of Sufjan Stevens’ Concerning the UFO (dot dot dot long name…) song, off one of the best albums ever, Illinoise. So, we know already that this fella has some mad skills when it comes to music, easily melting us wish his gorgeous crooning and adept production skills. Today, he demonstrates that folktronic craftiness again on new track Come Back For Me, a moving, magnificent brooder. It’s a new taste off his forthcoming Habits Of My Heart EP, out September 30 on behemoth label Atlantic Records. Yea, we’re not the only ones who know how talented this guy is. The suits can see it, too. In case you forgot how mind blowing Habits Of My Heart is, revisit below. And sigh away with me.

My legs started feeling like jello earlier today when I was melting away to this new tune from South London alt pop artist Sivu, who seems to be a grand master at doing that with his moving, baroque-ish pop music. Particles is such a tender, gentle, and hushed gem. His vocals on the track are so passionately emotive and exquisite. Sivu’s new EP Miracle (Human Error) will be out soon July 27, via Atlantic Records. I’ll share the video for the title track again, below.
