Sydney DJ and production talent Jesse Porsches signed to Astralwerks earlier this year, and now he’s back with a scintillating new jam on the celebrated label named Say It To Me. Jesse co-wrote the track with his long time friend and partner-in-crime, Holly Martin, aka Brasska, who also lends her silky sensual vocals to the vibrant glimmering future bass and dance pop chimera. Say It To Me is a gloriously thrilling piece with tense droning synths and swift quivering bass, punctuated at opportune moments with a deliciously funky bass line. The song explores the concept of being in a relationship while knowing that the other person isn’t emotionally invested.

Great news has arrived for fans of well-costumed Australian synthpop and glam rock veterans Empire Of The Sun. Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore have released a new EP entitled On Our Way Home after only having announced it a day prior. They’ve also shared a music video for its lead single, Way To Go, which I’m sure you recognize from their most recent album, Two Vines. New EP On Our Way Home also features several remixes of Way To Go and a couple of new treats. On Our Way Home is available from iTunes, here.

We can always count on Lemaitre to brighten up our day and lift our spirits, and it’s readily obvious from the whistling at the beginning of We Got U that this one’s going to leave us feeling oh so good. On top of all this, the Norwegian electronic duo is joined by New York’s The Knocks on this glamorous indie dance groover, too! The end result is a splendid mix of both acts’ signature sounds. Pumping nu-disco beats and retro electro vibes abound on this jovially swinging, carefree swaying jam. We Got U is available now on iTunes via Astralwerks. Watch the video for the song below.

Porter Robinson’s Sea Of Voices is already a gorgeously amazing song off his highly regarded 2014 debut Worlds, one of my top three electronic albums that year. Yet, Portland’s Ninth Parallel takes that ocean of beauty to a whole new level of cosmic, cinematic expansiveness with his official remix. It’s a glowing Sea Of Voices that can mightily illuminate the darkest caves of despair with its blooming, flowering rays of profound, heart swelling ardor and warmth. It nearly seems like a cloud of cushiony air is inflating underneath me as the beauty ambles along gently and with grandeur. It’s tough time returning to earth after those last notes fade away.

LYRIC VID: Urban Cone – Come Back To Me ft. Tove Lo

March 6, 2015

I’ve been waiting a couple days for a soundcloud stream for this one, and since there’s only a clip on Urban Cone’s account, I can’t wait any longer. In a super union of Swedish pop talent, electropop band Urban Cone has enlisted the husky vocals of Tove Lo for a new tune. Come Back To Me is a fabulous blend of Urban Cone’s charming, enchanting sound and Tove Lo’s beautiful voice. Stream the playful song’s lyric video, above. Come Back To Me will be on Urban Cone’s new album Polaroid Memories, out May 12th on Astralwerks.

By now, many of you have heard Eric Prydz version of CHVRCHES Tether. He’d been playing it live in his sets while on his massive tour, and people loved it so much, that it’s finally been unleashed as a single. I was waiting for that to happen after hearing low quality recordings of the track on youtube from camera happy fans at his shows. Now, CHVRCHES and Eric Prydz have dropped an official video for the EDM anthem. As a die hard, devoted fan of CHVRCHES and Lauren Mayberry’s voice, I’m quite happy with all these gifts. I’m also very glad the Los Angeles producer has reached such heights of success and popularity.

Urban Cone’s Emil Hero certainly turned in some amazing and indelible guest stints on some of last year’s biggest electronic hits, including Porter Robinson’s Lionhearted and Tobtok’s Higher. Since then, he’s focused back on his Swedish electronic pop band. They already dropped the irresistible Sadness Disease, now listen to new song Robot Love. It’s yet another flawless indie pop anthem with a very lustrous but bittersweet sound. Urban Cone’s new album Polaroid Memories will be out May 12th on Astralwerks, and I’m much looking forward to it.

Norwegian act Lemaitre’s deeply hooking song All I Need goes full on pompously regal and glorious with a magnificent, cinematic remix by French producer Nebbra. He gives the track an opulent, triumphant future bass and trap makeover that’s thoroughly dramatic and gratifying. The slamming edit is off the Singularity (Remixed) EP Lemaiter just dropped recently on Astralwerks.

That Prince Fox is just unstoppable lately. He already teamed up with Hotel Garuda on that killer Kanye West cover All Of The Lights earlier this week, and yet, here he is again, dropping a massive remix of Norewgian act Lemaitre’s All I Need, featuring Chuck English. Prince Fox pulls out all the stops on the intoxicating future bass remix of the nu-disco meets hip hop tune. Let those shimmers and pulses flow over you and get lost in the dope track.

There’s no doubt that Porter Robinson’s Worlds, out earlier this year on Astralwerks, is one of the year’s best electronic albums. With the debut release and the huge directional change in his production sound, Porter solidified himself as an influential mega producer. The album boasts endless great tunes, touching on so many genres, but some people I know consider Years Of War their favorite. Australian producer Golden Features chose exactly that track to remix. He turns the pumping synthpop heavy song, which features Brianne Duren and Sean Caskey, into an edgier, shadowy deep house and techno track. It’s a complete 180 from the original’s vibe and groove.
