Philadelphia’s Noah Breakfast puts his own spin on Portland crooner Shy Girls’ Arrest Me, which feature Brooklyn’s Tei Shi on guest vocals. As someone who’s been in love with Tei Shi’s gloriously sensual electronic pop music and phenomenal vocals for some time now, Arrest Me has easily been one of my favorites from Shy Girls this year. Noah Breakfast gives Arrest Me a murkier, droopier quality to the steamy original. It even features additional lulling, emotive guitars by Levi Natkins. Effervescent future bass meets a lush, dreamy ambiance that reminds me of WET or Shura’s music. It’s a sublime production, a droning, alluring wall of provocative sound.

I’m officially on a roll with the sultry, swooning synthpop jams this late afternoon. Bora York imbue their radiant new song, Arrest Me, with plenty of balmy, muggy warmth and a slick, dance funking, irresistible groove. It follows on the heels of The Way You Groove several weeks ago, and altogether, these tunes are forming the perfect romantic summer soundtrack. The five piece band from Minneapolis is fronted by husband wife duo Chris and Rebekah Bartels, and they skillfully craft sun-kissed, sparkling music that has me itching to twirl around the room. Arrest Me is from an upcoming album, due out in June.

While Right, Alright is still my current fave off the release, Arrest Me is also a must listen. The mixtape features an amazing list of guest artists, and I was much delighted when I learned that Brooklyn’s Tei Shi would be featured on Arrest Me. Shy Girls brings maximum steamy electronic R&B on the slow jam, which pairs perfectly with Tei Shi’s sensual, smoky, and pristine voice.
