With a honeyed lilt and a spirited cadence comes a charming new tune from London quartet, Anteros. Bonnie veers towards pop rock territory with its crunchy guitars and punchy, glossy melody. In fact, it’s quite the exhilarating and ebullient head bopper. It’s certainly a welcome treat and eagerly awaited return by the band who’ve been quiet on the front since the release of their EP, Drunk, earlier this year. The band is currently on tour in the UK with YONAKA. Re-visit their prior offerings and their Drunk EP on Soundcloud, here.

It’s hardly been a few weeks since Anteros gave us a kittenish playful guitar pop gem named Breakfast, a song I’m still much addicted to, and for far more reason than my love for the meal the song is named after. The London four piece are back with a bewitching number named Blue, a song that seems to thrive in the dark of night, long before the consumption of any breakfast. Spellbinding Blue is full of flickering shadows, its ghostly tendrils of swirly smoke wrapping me in a shroud of gauzy intoxication. Despite its moodiness, Blue is spirited and infectious. Blue makes me a dancer in the dark. The song is the b-side to Breakfast, which is available now on iTunes.

Hands down, breakfast is the best meal of the day, the very reason I eagerly get up each morning to stuff myself with tasty treats and hot coffee. London’s Anteros magnifies my love of breakfast with a song of the same name, and the quartet has also unleashed a fantastic video for the tune. Breakfast is kittenish and playful, a bright and punchy guitar pop gem with an unforgettable melody. Lead singer Hayden explained that the song is about dating someone who only wanted to stay up and talk about their problems all night long, leaving her bored with that over self indulgence. Breakfast is available now at iTunes.

Lonely Tonight is the third song from London’s Anteros, and just like prior tunes Fade To Grey and self titled Anteros, it’s another must share on IHM. The trio has me swaying in my seat joyfully to Lonely Tonight’s twangy Fleetwood Mac meets kittenish Metric groove. It’s also impossible for me to resist Lonely Tonight’s deeply rolling guitar. There’s a gloomy greyness to the lithe and sleek song that’s oh so gratifying good. Hit up Anteros’ Soundcloud to re-visit their prior songs.

Anteros’ Fade To Grey is the London based trio’s second offering, following on the heels of their self titled debut single earlier this year. Like on that gem, Fade To Grey carries a wonderfully infectious and perky synthy pop quality that reminds me of Metric, but it’s also very Fleetwood Mac with its retro groove and twang tinged earthiness. Anteros will continue to release more music as the year progresses, culminating in their debut EP on Duly Noted Records.

Duly Noted Records’ newest artist is an instantly hooking band named Anteros. The London based trio’s first offering is a self-titled track, also named Anteros, which blends stirring, simmering indie rock with catchy, bright pop hooks, kind of like Metric meets NONONO with an infusion of extra alt. Anteros says that they make music that’s the perfect companion to feel the wind rush by you on a long, expansive drive to somewhere unknown & exciting. I can certainly feel that fluttery feel of high anticipation and suspense on the expansive song. Anteros will be releasing more music throughout the year that’ll ultimately feature on their debut EP.
