Typically, a cartel is a group of “producers” who supply, um, certain party favors, at a cost of course. Fortunately for us, we don’t have to pay to enjoy this next track from a production crew from Washington named Dance Cartel, and the “favors” they’re offering up are utterly enthralling, in a more sonic sense. Their recent original Another Life has keyed us into the group’s production forte, and it’s an immensely catching and melodically sweeping house anthem. For more Dance Cartel, stream their disco infused house edit of Clean Bandit’s megahit Symphony with Zara Larsson below, too. Another Life is a free download, here.

Long time IHM local production favorite, San Francisco’s Slaptop, is slowly unveiling treats to build up to the release of his debut album, With You, on March 3rd. It’s obvious from what we’ve heard so far that With You is going to be a can’t miss versatile display of Slaptop’s dance inducing skills. On new preview Another Life, he entrances us with deep booming house then enchants us with melodic R&B pop courtesy of husky voiced siren, Geneva White. Slaptop has always walked a fine line between musical genres with his electronic concoctions. Another Life is no different. It’s both a throwback to the 90′s and a future styled piano house anthem. Re-visit Slaptop’s prior songs revealed from his forthcoming album by heading over to Soundcloud, here.

Last year, I was heaping praise on an indie rock band from Los Angeles named NO, who dropped an excellent debut album named El Prado on Arts and Crafts. Their moody, baritone vocals and melodic songs reminded me very much of The National, with a little less gloom. They’ve since changed their name eto Black English, and today they release a video for El Prado track Another Life. It’s a pretty tune, perhaps one of the prettiest ones off the album, with its glistening guitars, verdant arrangement, and surging melody.

Mark Stoermer solo debut

Another member of The Killers is now going to attempt a solo career. This time it’s Mark Stoermer, the bassist. Today, he announced he will give away his solo debut album titled Another Life for free for a limited time on his website at Markstoermer.com. Below are 3 of the tracks off the album to stream. Sounds pretty good to me! I like “Everyone Loves the Girl” and “The Way We Were Before” the most out of the 3. Dare I say, I may like Stoermer’s work more than Ronny Vannucci and his band Big Talk’s material, from the limited tracks I’ve heard. But of course Brandon Flower’s solo album is the best so far. However, their sounds are all very different. I guess The Killers is just overloaded with talent. Despite all the solo careers and projects the members have been doing, do not fear, The Killers are currently working on their fourth album! Can’t wait!
