It’s obvious UK artist Krrum is on the rise. I’ve been spellbound by his rich pulsing indietronica since he emerged with Morphine late last year. It’s the same dashing soulful electronica that he delivers yet again on new song Blessings In A Black Dress, which first premiered on Annie Mac’s radio show as an exclusive. It’s no secret that Krrum is much influenced by Jai Paul’s R&B funk as well as Justin Vernon’s melancholic songwriting. However, Krrum’s vocals and Blessings In A Black Dress’ twisty, winding soundscape also remind me of Twin Shadow and Ben Khan. Blessings In A Black Dress is another fine addition to Krrum’s slowly expanding repertoire of magnificent tunes. You can download the song from Annie Mac’s Soundcloud stream.

Ah yes, magical chimes and wooing vocals, what’s to say no to on HUNTAR’s latest? The South London based producer is satiny smooth yet again on his new soulful electronic pop offering, a song named Autumn. Oddly enough, today’s the warmest day in forever here in San Francisco, and HUNTAR has easily brought me some Fall vibes with this spectacular song. While there’s a shadowy undertone to its whirlwind futuristic production, Autumn’s melody and vocals are radiantly bright and hooking. I’m reminded of how colorful the Fall can be, how sensationally beautiful, yet brimming with memories of summer while the impending cold of winter approaches.

In a mega whirlpool of talent, East Coast producer Todd Edwards has remixed Etienne de Crécy’s You, which features Madeline Follin of Cults. The track premiered over the weekend on Annic Mac’s BBC Radio show. As expected of Todd Edwards, there’s a garage heavy vibe going on with the track, but mixed with funky fresh house and lined with Follin’s surprisingly soulful vocals (compared to her usual enchanting style with Cults). The original is on Etienne de Crécy’s Super Discount 3 album, out January 19th.

I’m on a roll with remixes of songs I love very dearly. If you’ve been paying attention, ahem, then you should know that I’m a adoring fan of UK band Glass Animals’ work. Gooey is one of several favorite tracks off their debut album Zaba, and the track has received a delicious reworking that premiered on BBC Radio’s Annie Mac Presents. The Klaves Bootleg is a more airy and sped up rendition of the slinking song, full of tweaky pop and weightless bounce. Klaves is a 21 year old Polish newcomer with a background in classical music and a love of house. He makes a grand statement with this remix.

Annie Mac’s hits it on the nail when she says, at the beginning of this BBC Radio 1 rip, “this one, is a banger, Bondax, All I See, remixed by TCTS”. Of course, I’d rather share a studio recording, but this is what hot UK duo Bondax has to offer us for now. If you haven’t heard the massive 90’s disco and future house original, watch the new video below for the summer anthem, written by MNEK and featuring Becky Hill and Tanya Lacey. Fast rising producer TCTS, aka Sam O’Neill, kicks the energy up a notch and speeds up the original, stripping away the original vocals and giving the tune plenty of always mesmerizing and magnetizing progressive piano stabs. It’s a harder but intoxicatingly smooth club rendition.

Darkening things up with When The Drums Come In, a befittingly percussive heavy, drum and bass number from UK producer High Contrast, who enlists Chicago rapper Wonda on vocal duties. The pensive hip hop and drum & bass banger is wickedly good. Unsurprisingly, it was featured on BBC Radio’s Annie Mac Presents.

I may not live in the UK, but I do know that Annie Mac tends to select some sick acts and music for her show on BBC Radio, so I pay attention. I pay attention and I reap the fruits for both me and you. This week, Annie Mac selected a sick, groovy UK house track named Freedom by South London producer GRADES. The captivating, Disclosure-esque track samples Jill Scott’s Golden, and builds one helluva dance track around it.
