UK based electronic duo Vessels and Norwegian pop outfit Anna and the North make the divine pairing on Had A Love. It’s nearly unexpected that Vessels would present us with such a lustrous skating, rich hovering sound given their bass heavy production in the past. Had A Love radiates warmth in its swelling synths and convex beats, while Anna and the North’s glacial crystalline vocals only adds more layers of beauty to this spectacular tech house tune, one which channels bits of Caribou and Tourist in its boundless soundscape. Vessels is working on their new album, due out next year, and I’m left wondering how it’s going to sound after listening to Had A Love countless times. Had A Love is out now. Head to Bandcamp to purchase.

Vancouver producer Felix Cartal is up to his brilliant tricks again, transforming pop songs I adore into soaring, uplifting dance anthems. He loves Anna And The North’s Baby so much that he just had to put his own spin on it. Well, I’m very much a helpless victim to the Norwegian songbird’s glacial shimmering, swirly intoxicating Baby, too. And now I’m head over heels for this glowing remix that takes me to new heights of skin tingling, shiver inducing euphoria. Though the deep pumping indie dance approach Felix Cartal gives us on the song is infinitely exhilarating, it’s also fleecy plush and saccharine enchanting.
