15 Years can’t be a more suitably named debut. Australia’s High Tropics,  fronted by Josh Stewart (formerly of The Ninjas), turns back the hands of time just about that many years with their first single. We return to the 2000′s with High Tropics to revisit a classic era when bands like The Strokes and The Killers were topping charts with some of their finest tunes. The Australian newcomers, who’ve just signed to esteemed label Roll Call, floods us with sweet nostalgia while serenading us with their propulsive thrumming, crunchy clinging garage rock. Highly addictive 15 Years also arrives with a vintage styled video, which you can watch below. The single is available from iTunes, here.

It’s been a long year since New York based Irish singer songwriter Sorcha Richardson grabbed hold of our ears with her stunning alt electronic song Petrol Station. She must have been hard at work on creating brilliant new music, because she re-surfaces with some thoroughly magnificent material in the form of new single Walk Away. A deep brooding bass contrasts with Sorcha Richardson’s clarion vocals. In fact, the song seems deeply rooted in rigid dichotomy. Despite her airy gliding, delicately tender delivery and an atmospheric weightlessness, Sorcha Richardson’s Walk Away feels raw and tormented. The result is a stark moving experience that comes off deeply intimate and honest. Walk Away is part of a special project Sorcha Richardson has been working on that involves the consistent release of new music every few weeks for the next 6 months as well as a lot of offline fan engagement. There’s no “walking away” from what’s to come after hearing Walk Away. Purchase the song from iTunes.

Two Door Cinema Club has proven time and time again that it’s never EVER a bad decision to dive whole heartedly into the much adored Irish band’s music. Pretty much everyone I know is super excited that 2DCC has announced the arrival of their third full length album, Gameshow, on October 14th. They’ll also be heading out on tour with a sure to sell out quickly stop at the Fox Oakland on December 1st. Bad Decisions has me convinced that the usual dance party that 2DCC ignites with their indie pop is only going to be that much more magnificent when they drop their new material live. They go more grooving slick than they’ve ever been on this disco funky jam. This re-direction in sound seems to go hand in hand with Alex Trimble’s new hair style. Those long, glamorous locks of wavy hair befit the creamy falsettos swooning us on Bad Decisions. New album Gameshow can be pre-ordered now from iTunes.
