On May 4th, Calgary’s Reuben and the Dark will be releasing their long awaited sophomore album, Arms Of A Dream. It’s been three long years since the folk rockers have emulsified our hearts with songs like Heart In Two and Bow And Arrow from their debut album Funeral Sky. They’re back, as magnificent as ever, on All Or Nothing, a sprawling, soaring anthem bursting with heartfelt emotion. The lead single is described as an anthem that “careens on the boundary of confidence and complete desperation.” That nuanced balance is incredibly powerful and moving. Pre-order/pre-save Reuben and the Dark’s new album, here.

The very first time I heard of Maria Lynn was when she lent saccharine vocals to James Carter’s effulgent re-working of Hailee Steinfeld’s Starving earlier this year. With the sudden release of a four track EP named All Or Nothing, the Jersey artist has vaulted herself this week to pop artist to watch status. She teams up with German producer Toniia on All Or Nothing to bring us fine tunes like this twilight twinkler, Diamonds. Maria Lynn’s chiffon voice glides effortlessly across Toniia’s opulent future soundscape. As they say, diamonds are forever, and I could listen to this satiny sparkler forever, too. You can stream Maria Lynn and Toniia’s All Or Nothing EP in full below. Purchase from iTunes, here.

Despite the fact that Jeremy Malvin has been busy with his stellar new project Promises Ltd. alongside Miniature Tigers’ Charlie Brand, the Brooklyn producer continues to find time for his solo project, Chrome Sparks. Whilst touring the US as Chrome Sparks, Jeremy reveals a spectacular new tune named All Or Nothing, which features vocals by Body Language’s Angelica Bess. This warped pulsating mass of eccentric hypnotic electronica charges us up from the get go. All Or Nothing is spaciously punctuated by Angelica Bess’ airy sensual R&B, and the ensuing ride is nothing short of a sublime mind trip. If Little Dragon went all Tourist and Jamie xx on us (simultaneously), they might still fall short of the brilliance of this florid gilded electronic piece. All Or Nothing is out now on Counter Records. Purchase or stream from various other outlets, here.
