JANEVA’s rich soulful voice can be recognized from her guest vocals on songs like Dugong Jr’s Lights Out and London Topaz’s Let You Go, but the 21 year old singer songwriter is more than prepared to take over the world solo as she launches her debut single, You & I. The nimble quivering, spry springing electronica and R&B pop on the vibrant song evokes NAO and AlunaGeorge, among other bright stars in the R&B pop scene these days. At the helm of You & I’s rumbling production is none other than talented Akouo and fellow Australian JIA LIH. You can purchase You & I now from iTunes. You can also stream the banger off of Soundcloud below.

It sucks that I’ve been having some major technical difficulties on the blog, because it’s held up or slowed down my sharing of a whole lot of great tracks, including this one, a remix of Sydney starlet Jess Kent’s punchy riveting single The Sweet Spot by Tasmanian producer Akouo. The edit comes off of a new remix package for The Sweet Spot, and it’s been euphorically shaking me with its robust shudders and skittering bass all week long. Akouo’s direction on the remix is a perfect fit to Jess Kent’s chimeric fusion of fierce dancehall and edgy pop. You can also stream Akouo’s exhilarating edit off Soundcloud below. Check out more The Sweet Spot remixes on Jess Kent’s Soundcloud, here.

Last month, Dutch producer GANZ released his six track EP GAO which includes powerful ballad Light Years, featuring husky emotive vocals by rising Melbourne singer songwriter Maribelle. The producer has now shared a riveting intense official remix by none other than Tasmania’s Akouo, who recently toured alongside GANZ. Akouo’s shadowy remix jabs sharply yet sensually, a dramatic textured combustion of virile future bass and trap.

It might be comically uneducated, but when I think of Tasmania, I think of Looney Tunes and the Tasmanian Devil. Yes, quite silly of me, I think. But that’s not all I think of nowadays. The name Akouo also immediately comes to mind, as the producer’s music has thrilled me so many times past and present. And now, he’s done it agian, with a future bass, hip hop, and wavy remix of Jack Ü’s To Ü, featuring AlunaGeorge. It’s a chill yet lavish rework… restrained and simmering, yet full of flashy life.

Akouo has dropped his new single All They Do, after previewing its B-side, Pieces, last week. I’ve been waiting to hear this one, and the hip hop heavy track, which features indie artist Monsoonsiren & Chicago rapper Mayo, is no disappointment. Akouo’s production is on point as always, and the banging beats and entrancing rhythm come together flawlessly on the triple collaboration.

Australia based Tasmanian electronic producer Akouo has thrilled my ears aplenty in the past with both remixes and originals. The producer’s latest offering is a sparkling original named Pieces, the B-side for an upcoming single release, All They Do. As we’ve become used to hearing from the talented act, Pieces is a highly textured future bass track. Booming, spacious bass and soulful, delicate vocals punctuate the captivating, exhilarating Pieces. The All They Do single drops on Monday, January 26th.

Hot UK duo Gorgon City’s Unmissable is getting some sick remix treatments lately. I last shared a Le P remix which pulled it in a tropical direction. Today I give you Tasmanian producer Akouo’s remix, out on Neon Records. The heavy bass and bouncy future production is so satisfying and entrancing, while the track retains a summery, mellow atmosphere.

I have a couple remixes of ZHU to share with you before the day’s over, and this is the first of the two. I confess, everytime I see the name “ZHU”, my heart skips a beat automatically. The golden boy of the hour, who’s still as mysterious as can be despite his debut performance in Australia a week ago, has given us some of the most amazing, hottest tracks of the year. Here, ZHU’s Paradise Awaits gets a textured, ethereal approach on Tasmanian producer Akouo’s terrific remix. We’ve been delighted many times over by Akouo’s skillful production, always resulting in such weightless and effervescent atmosphere and such chill inducing feels.
