Last month, Sweden’s Violet Days recruited Echo Park crooner morgxn for her latest acclaimed pop single, a gorgeously stirring gem named Somber. And now, the pair have reunited for a new acoustic video for the track. I found myself utterly transfixed by this stunning rendition, on which both singer songwriters turn in exceptional vocal performances. Their pure, harmonious voices intertwine tenderly with the song’s dewy keys. It’s a heartrending, lachrymose experience involving two rising stars. Listen to the original version of Somber below.

[PREMIERE] La Bouquet – Loveless (Sunshine Sessions)

Leonardo Da Vinci once famously said, “a life without love, is no life at all.”  Even if some of our hearts have tucked themselves away to avoid getting crushed for the umpteenth time, we can live vicariously through the stripped back beauty and intimate charm of this finely rendered new acoustic video from La Bouquet. We join Bryan Sammis (The Neighbourhood, Olivver the Kid) and Jake Lopez as they melt us to no end with their poignantly heartfelt rendition of Loveless. La Bouquet made a huge imprint on the new music scene over a year ago with the debut single, a sleek stirring, infectious driving torrent of earthy alt rock and rambunctious alt pop. You can watch La Bouquet’s music video for Loveless, here.

The band’s performance of Loveless in their new “Sunshine Sessions” video is immaculate. Every strum, each twang, and even the raspy drawl of La Bouquet’s vocals on this gentle lullaby are deeply affecting, as if rising and reverberating from secret chambers within our own hearts. “Maybe I’m just hopeless enough to feel alone, but selfish enough to write this song,” they coo. Ah, but that’s there they get it wrong. It’s selfless of them to gift us such an earnestly moving ballad. It’s a heart-on-the-sleeve confessional, a piercingly sad and strikingly sincere meditation that feels particularly vulnerable and exposed on their cozy and pastoral new arrangement.

Loveless can be found on La Bouquet’s four track debut EP, Heavy Sunshine, which is available from iTunesAmazonGoogle Play, and Spotify. Keep up with La Bouquet via FacebookTwitterInstagram, or their website, here.

The first thing I noticed when I waded into this new acoustic video from Efraim Leo was his melting voice. It’s dulcet and soothing, soulful and emotive, like a cross between James Bay and Ed Sheeran. Then I noticed that his tender strumming first original, You Got Me Wrong, was tugging hard on my heartstrings, too. The dreamy singer songwriter hails from Stockholm, Sweden, and he’s obviously poised to make an imprint with his dashing looks and affecting vocals. Head to his Soundcloud to let him liquefy your heart some more with a cover of Shawn Mendes’ Treat You Better as well a handful of other tracks.

A new acoustic video from Swedish artist Clara Mae has keyed us into her recent single, whose official video has broken out with well over half a million streams on YouTube. You can view the gorgeous acoustic video for the stringy, stripped down version of I’m Not Her below, but let’s turn our attention to the sugar coated electro pop original above. Steely throbbing electronica and vivacious beats intertwine with Clara Mae’s honeyed, kittenish voice on this immediately infectious gem. We’ve shared many an electronic bop with Clara Mae on guest vocals, but I’m Not Her more than proves her draw as a soloist. I’m Not Her is out now on Big Beat, stream/purchase, here.

A new acoustic video from Picturesque has belatedly keyed me into the alt rock quartet’s music. The band released their debut album Back To Beautiful over the summer, and they’ll be hitting the road early next year with Silverstein and Tonight Alive. Album single Honestly immediately hooked us in with its rambunctious metal plus emo tinged post-hardcore and cinematic rock. Its sheer power and force as well as its resounding vocals reminds me of bands like Manchester Orchestra, Coheed and Cambria, and 30 Seconds To Mars. It’s a high voltage, hard hitting combination with a melodious arc. Watch Picturesque’s new acoustic video for Honestly below. The Kentucky based band’s debut album can be purchased from their website, here.

19 year old Missouri singer songwriter Chappell Roan has quickly become one of my favorite emerging voices in the past week. Though we initially missed out on debut single Good Hurt, our encounter with her acoustic video for Bad For You has left us with an insatiable appetite for her exceptional voice and alluring magnetism. So when we saw a new acoustic video out yesterday for her song Meantime, we were nothing short of ecstatic. With the husky smokiness of  LÉON, the operatic range and elegance of London Grammar’s Hannah Reid, and the jazzy sophistication of Rae Morris, Chappell Roan fully transfixes us once again with a stunning performance in the video. Meantime is a soaring ballad and a heart wrenching aria. These songs are off of Chappell Roan’s excellent debut EP on Atlantic, School Nights, which can be streamed and downloaded, here. Re-visit her acoustic video for Bad For You below as well as her debut music video, Good Hurt.
