Darkwave duchess ABRA strikes again with a brilliant new tune. The much buzzing Atlanta based singer songwriter and producer haunts us with barbed hip hop and vaporous R&B on misty and gossamer B.R.A.T, a cheeky lo-fi jam produce by Father. B.R.A.T is a wicked track that reminds us of ABRA’s earlier tracks. Take a trip down memory lane and re-visit those spaciously atmospheric gems on Soundcloud, here.

As much as I love the endless deluge of balmy summer anthems we’re encountering these days, I do indeed harbor a dark and twisted heart. As such, my favorite music tends to lean towards the spectral inky or the fiery scorching. Needless to say, I find Josh Pan’s new single Give It To Ya deliciously nebulous and viscerally incinerating. The OWSLA signed producer even links up with “darkwave duchess” ABRA on the track, a fine choice considering how bewitching we’ve found ABRA’s bedroom electronic pop and future R&B in the past. Sharp jostling, warped heady, and sinuous glowering Give It To Ya comes with one of the best videos we’ve seen all year, too. Dystopian visuals are nothing new when it comes to music videos, but the spellbinding clip, crafted by French artist Quentin Deronzier, is a brilliant accompaniment to bristling Give It To Ya. Give It To Ya is available for streaming/downloading, here.

“Darkwave duchess” ABRA is at it again, casting her abracadabra magic with a splendid new song named Crybaby. The Atlanta based singer songwriter and producer takes me back to the 80′s with her bass quivering R&B soul jam, a sensational taste from her forthcoming PRINCESS EP. It’s all very Dev Hynes meets Little Dragon in a Soul II Soul meets Janet Jackson world of past decades. Pre-order PRINCESS on limited edition vinyl, here, or grab Crybaby as a single on iTunes. Crybaby can also be streamed off Soundcloud below.

I’m very excited to have encountered ABRA, whose Facebook profile describes herself as a “darkwave duchess”. Once you dive into new single Sick Girl, you’ll come to realize why. ABRA bewitches with a dark and droopy brand of future R&B and bedroom electronic pop, and it’s a straight shot for my heart. It’s near impossible not to compare her to the likes of Tink or Kelela, with the sensual allure of Tinashe. Sick Girl is magnetic. Despite a ghostly chill, its full of frisky sass. Visit ABRA’s Soundcloud to listen to more of this darkwave duchess’ compelling music.
