I know this one’s been going viral and passing around like mad all day long, but I can’t resist tossing it on for a quick share anyway. After all, it’s that Lana Del Rey and The Weeknd collaboration we all been waiting for since we caught wind of the rumored track earlier this year. Lust For Life is the title track from Lana Del Rey’s next album, and as expected, particularly with The Weeknd involved too, it’s a romantic sadcore anthem with lyrics like “only the good die young”. Lust For Life is available for purchase, here.

OFFICIAL VID: The Weeknd – Rolling Stone

October 3, 2012

Able Tesfaye, better known as Canada’s The Weeknd, has wowed everyone endlesly with his trilogy of mixtapes over the course of last year. The one lacking thing from those releases? Videos. This clip for Rolling Stone is only the second video for any track from those highly acclaimed mixtapes. It’s simple and stark, just like his minimalistic, bedroom electronic R&B, though Rolling Stone is probably one of the least electronic, most acoustic trax from the man. As for the mixtapes, Universal plans on releasing all three together on November 26 along with three brand new bonus songs in a bundle.

Here’s Star Slinger’s remix of Drake’s Crew Love which features The Weeknd. If you want uber mega shimmery r&b/hip hop from this super collaboration and remix, you’ve got it. Star Slinger’s calling it his Jersey Refix. As always, the UK producer does a banging job with the track.

OFFICIAL VID: The Weeknd – Montreal

January 31, 2012

The latest video from brilliant genius The Weeknd is for the track Montreal off of the Echoes of Silence EP, and it was made by High 5 Collective, who previously worked with The Weeknd on other videos. If you haven’t listened to The Weeknd’s Echoes of Silence in full, you should really grab your high quality headphones and give it a go. The Canadian producer, who’s real name is Abel Tesfaye, is one heckuva musician. Even if you’re normally not into this type of hazy R&B music, The Weeknd is one of those artists where you can recognize the talent regardless if you love the music or not. Yes, there’s a reason Drake put the man on his latest album. But it’s Able Tesfaye’s solo work that breaks ground and blows minds. Without further ado, here’s the image laden video that captures the stark emotion of the track very well.
