London’s Aaron, not to be confused with French pop act AaRON (yes, capitalization matters a lot when it comes to band names), is back with their first enchanting single since their Letters To Jonny EP half a year ago. Kids is an alluring fusion of shimmering dream pop and grooving alt pop. There’s a surreal glamour to the retro hazy tune, a wonderfully punchy and hooking treat. Kids gets a release on November 5th.

It’s only been a day since I shared French pop rock act AaRON’s synthpop song Blouson Noir and their album teaser, which stars John Malkovich. But here we are again, getting swept away by AaRON’s gloriously epic and powerful synthpop on new song and video Onassis. They remind me of some of my favorites from acts like Deptford Goth and Sombear, but drenched in a far lusher, bolder, and palatial ambiance. AaRON describe the piece as a metaphorical movement about rebirth, when you find yourself and dive into the unknown without fear. Onassis is from their new album We Cut The Night, out September 18th.

Quite unknown to me previously, which was apparently a travesty, is a French pop rock act named AaRON, which stands for Artificial Animals Riding On Neverland, an epic name indeed. The band has been around since 2005, with several albums released, their last one having hit the shelves in 2011. AaRON is gearing up to release their fourth album soon, and off the release comes a gliding and grandiose synthpop song named Blouson Noir. The Parisian duo quickly converted me into a new fan with the exhilarating cut off the new album. It builds in tense intensity and electrifying energy over time, while AaRON’s baritone vocals slice through that darkness with a crisp coolness. With the dancey new song also comes a prelude for new album We Cut The Night that features the great and talented actor John Malkovich. Watch him wax poetic in the prelude clip below, in a very noir, theatrical manner, soundtracked with Blouson Noir. Gripping stuff, if you ask me.

You might recall that some months ago, I shared some new music by a new singer songwriter out of London named Aaron with much zeal. The chanteuse (yes, she’s a she) has finally returned with a second song, a darkly pulsing and grooving jam named Strong. With resplendently glamorous production, a retro 80’s styled pop flair, and siren like vocals, Strong will reel you right into its deep melodies and beats.

There’s a singer songwriter out of London named Aaron that I was previously unaware of, but once I checked out her two tracks from earlier this year, I was sold. Though her tracks are labeled dream pop, they’re far more upbeat and peppy than what I normally call “dream pop”. Strong has a pulsing, throbbing beat and some deliciously dark undercurrent. Aaron has been working with the likes of Corey Chorus (Rihanna), Brey (Jessie Ware), and seemingly omnipresent MNEK on a debut EP, Letters To Jonny, for release later this year. Also listen to buoyant Holding Water below, a warm gem that carries a hint of Little Dragon like soul, lead by Aaron’s rich vocals.
