My heart skipped a beat when I came across this remix that unites two of our faves into one gorgeously captivating song. Atlanta based indie rock/alt rock veterans Manchester Orchestra put out one of our favorite albums last year in the form of A Black Mile to the Surface, and one of the best songs off the record is undoubtedly The Gold. Syracuse baroque pop and indie rock darlings Ra Ra Riot have given the song a beautiful and understated remix treatment, with softly churning electronic elements awash in dreamy ambling introspection. Accompanying the remix is another official remix of The Gold by Melbourne’s Slow Dancer, which you can stream below. It’s a slow waltzing beauty, too, that simmers tenderly and sadly.
