It still sort of blows my mind that I was fortunate enough to see Pale Waves at the intimate Rickshaw Stop when they made their San Francisco debut late last year. The Manchester band commands far larger crowds at much bigger crowds most places they go, particularly back home in the UK, where they were a much deserved BBC Sound of 2018 finalist. I look forward to capturing more of their buzz when I hit SXSW next month. In the meantime, the guitar pop band has unveiled a third track from their forthcoming All The Things I Never Said EP, and The Tide is once again a solid hit in the making. Their luscious and chirpy pop rock, which always reminds me of their Manchester friends The 1975, as well as synthpop auteurs MUNA, is snappy and sweet, honeyed and mellifluous. The four piece heads out on their first North American headline tour this spring, ticket details can be found, here. Pre-order their All The Things I Never Said EP on transparent red 12″ vinyl, here. Take The Tide for a rambunctious skipping spin via Spotify, here.
