It’s been awhile again since we last heard from Dana Janssen, the man behind the project Dana Buoy, who’s also known for his role as percussionist for Akron/Family. It’s not often that he blesses us with new music from his solo project, but when he does, it’s always well worth the wait. The Portland musician is back with news of a long awaited new album and a wavy sparkling, glossy churning new treat named Ice Glitter Gold. The song also happens to be the title track from his new album, arriving February 23rd via Everloving. Dana Buoy’s new single is a polished and atmospheric examination of missed connections and altered states, aptly described as the thrum of 21st century psychedelia meets European dance floor chic. Dapper indeed is this late night indie bop, awash with fierce guitars, retro charm, and throbbing beats. Grab the song and pre-order the album via iTunes, here.
