Back home in Germany, Joelina Drews is already quite the pop star and television personality. She quickly gains me as a new fan after revealing a song inspired by her nights at Los Angeles’ famed rooftop bar at The Mondrian. Though Skybar is a brooding burner, it’s also a dance spurring future bass gem with catchy, flirty pop hooks. Skybar’s blend of R&B pop and future pop is sultry infectious and fiery seductive, like Tove Lo, or Dua Lipa. The song is about meeting a new crush, wanting to get closer to them, and being unable to focus on anything else. Skybar is the first single off her upcoming full length album, set to be released in April 2018. You can also take the song for a spin on Joelina Drews’ Spotify, here.
