Allie McDonald and Mike Derenzo have been busy music bees these past couple of weeks. As EXES, they’ve released two more ravishing singles, including this one, a supple pop jewel named Memorize that walks the fine line between the soft wistfulness of WET and the ethereal electronic pop of Vallis Alps. Allie says of the charming new single: “I’m a long distance lover. I’m all too familiar with the longing that comes with loving from afar. I wrote memorize with one of my favorite writers, Jome, about a boy I wanted to be next to all the time. I would memorize every moment- the sound of his voice, the way his fingers intertwined with mine. And I would keep those memories close when the distance felt especially heavy.” Aside from Memorize, EXES also recently revealed a dulcet whirring, coruscant glimmering alt/electro pop song named Better Better, which you can stream below. Memorize is out now via Moving Castle. Stream/purchase, here.

Chloë Black, formerly CHLØË BLACK, thoroughly bewitched us a few years prior when she made her debut on 27 Club, a gorgeous song steeped in glamorous tragedy and Lana Del Rey meets Amy Winehouse like vibes. The singer songwriter, who’s a London resident and an Australia native, has been silent for a very long time. As fans, we’ve been wondering what she’s been up to. Chloë Black makes a splendid re-entrance with Waterbed, a bittersweet entrancing, smoky soulful noire-pop gem of which she says: “I grew up partly in Seattle during the nineties and because of that grunge has a big place in my heart.  ‘Waterbed’ is symptomatic of my nineties nostalgia but shot through a 2017 lens.  I don’t want to say too much about it because I prefer when people are able to interpret things their own way; but I will say that to me the song is more than just literal.” Nostalgic grunge and retro pop intertwine seamlessly on this gorgeous Lana Del Rey, Cults, and Banks hybrid. Keep up with this ever magnetic artist on her website, here.

Cautious Clay sent the new music scene buzzing when the new 24 year old alt R&B artist made his debut last month with Cold War, an eclectic amalgamation of hip hop beats, brassy soul, and buttery R&B pop. He’s since followed it up with a fine second single named Joshua Tree, an alt R&B and electronic piece both atmospheric sweeping and spacious simmering. It’s quickly become apparent we can throw “caution” to the wind when it comes to this exciting emerging artist’s music. Re-visit debut single Cold War, here. You can also stream Joshua Tree via Spotify, here.

Comatose I might have been after lunch earlier today, but comatose I surely am not while I’m swaying to this fantastic new synth driven single from The Brinks. Comatose is our first taste of the Los Angeles based band’s forthcoming EP2. It’s been two years since producer Matt Friedman and Australian singer Scott Melis released their well received debut EP, Temporary Love, produced by Pusha T and Salaam Remi. We’re certainly excited for EP2, especially when its first single is such a fabulous alt pop gem. EP2 arrives December 1st. Comatose is available from iTunes, here.

Jackson Penn is quite the mystery. Aside from Streetlights on Mars, his Soundcloud account is barren of any other tidbits about the artist, much less links to any socials. All we know about the guy is that fact that he’s a dashing crooner. Streetlights on Mars, which we assume is his debut single, is a saccharine melting, bittersweet affecting pop ballad swimming in heartfelt emotion. Tender vocals, gentle guitar strums, and bright eyed synth flares imbue us with wonder and much affection for this fine introduction to the enigmatic talent.

LOYAL is another brilliant UK act we’ve been following for quite some time, so the arrival of theri debut EP, Light Up For You, warrants some gleeful celebration and a sublime visit of one of their new tracks off the release. The Brighton based collective presents us with satin sleek vocals on its smooth melting, sensual grooving title track, an absolutely intoxicating affair. Jamie xx like electronic ambiance meets Rhye-like sensuousness and TENDER-like smoldering vibes on the song. LOYAL’s debut EP is out via IAMSOUND.

Tom Tripp drummed up a great amount of buzz in the alt R&B and chill electronica scene after the release of his singles and his self-produced demo Aurelia. Now, he has a six track EP out named RED to please the ears of his growing army of fans, and it features this riveting tune named One Day, rife with crisp shimmering keys, searing guitar, and creamy smooth vocals. It’s obvious this is one Londoner we’ll be hearing more about in the coming months. You can stream RED in full, here.

San Diego surf rock & noise rock legends WAVVES have teamed up with San Francisco’s own Culture Abuse on a massive new punky stomping garage rock jam named Up And Down. The two groups are actually on a co-headlining tour together alongside Joyce Manor, so it’s rather fitting that they’ve come together on such a fabulously shimmering and fuzzy riffing charmer. Up And Down is a head bopping, toe tapping Monday morning treat. It leaves us convinced our week’s going to be a great one. Grab Up And Down from iTunes, here.

Let’s head down the coast to sunny Los Angeles for a charming new gem from Veronica Bianqui, a new garage pop and indie rock talent on our radar. She combines dynamic vocals with a 60′s inspired guitar riff on catchy chugging, crunchy curling Victim, a song about drug addiction. With the growing opioid epidemic in the US and the recent untimely death of her sister at the age of 35, Bianqui is donating 100% of the proceeds from this song to Harm Reduction Coalition.

Last Friday, an artist whom we consider one of the most talented newcomers this past year released his debut album. You can stream ‘Is Everything Okay In Your World?’ in full, here. Young English artist Yellow Days continues to haunt and stir with his signature combination of psychedelic pop and lo-fi soul on songs like this one off the album, I’ve Been Thinking Too Hard, creating a dreamy pensive, droopy yearning effect with his music. The album is a more than satiating culmination of our year long addiction to George van den Broeck and his gooey viscous, muggy churning music. His album is available from iTunes, here.
