I was over the moon the other day when New York indie pop darlings Cults suddenly re-emerged with new music after four long years of excruciating silence. Cults also announced that they’ll be releasing their third studio album, Offering, on October 6th. A flood of Cults music is exactly what I’ve been craving for, and our journey into that new full length continues with I Took Your Picture, which was inspired by Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion’s lover for 80′s power pop bands like The Motels and The Cars. I Took Your Picture is described as a song about fleeting moments and how we let past feelings interrupt the possibility for good things to happen. Cults’ new single is certainly a dance luscious sound for the band. It’s top heavy with wavy synths and drenched in a deliciously gazey haze. Suffice to say, I can’t wait for that new Cults record, which you can pre-order, here.
