Spring can’t come any sooner, not only because I’m just not a winter sort of gal (I love sunshine, blue skies, and the great outdoors), but also because I get to see Brooklyn starlet VÉRITÉ once again as she visits San Francisco to headline Popscene on May 1st. Maybe she’ll perform her gorgeous electropop cover of The 1975′s Somebody Else. For now, I’m more than happy dancing to an amazing new remix of the cover by ever scintillating electronic duo The White Panda. It’s a grand and regal affair as The White Panda gives Somebody Else a resolute stomping, obstinate clattering trap workover. A heartsick melancholy rears itself from the thick of The White Panda’s resplendent soundscape, originating effusively from

VÉRITÉ’s vocals. It dresses their remix with a duality that reminds me of Robyn’s bittersweet yet vibrant Dancing On My Own. The White Panda’s triumphant remix is a free download, here.

Heartlines, BROODS collaboration with co-writer Lorde, is easily a favorite off ot the New Zealand outfit’s second album Conscious. MOUNT, the talented Austrian producer who often partners up with filous to suffuse us with melodic dance feels, affords us a sublime re-visit of Heartlines via a cool cruising chill house remix. This airy bouncing, blushed glowing Heartlines leaves me yearning for the warmth and sunshine of spring and summer. The official remix is out now on iTunes.

The very first time I encountered Flybear I had to pick my jaw right off the floor. He’d just offered up a spectacular cover of James Blake standard The Wilhelm Scream and the future soul rendition was nothing short of brilliant (stream below if you managed to miss it or crave a re-visit). As expected, the Baltimore based producer continued to dole out phenomenal tunes since, and today, we get to dissolve into the textured and finespun beauty that is Hollowed. I’d expect a Flume, Bonobo, Lido, and Mura Masa collaboration to be on par with this dreamy sparkling, dusky enchanting gem. This is the sort of chilled out, ambient tingling tune to take out with you on an evening walk under a dark sky. Bring someone dear to your heart. Together, you’ll stare with wonder out into the star dusted universe, so large and vast, so full of mystery. Your hearts will be soothed as you take each other’s hands and look forward with hope. Hollowed we are no more. The gorgeous track is available from major outlets, here.

Whenever I see Crankdat drop one of his “re-cranks”, I know to expect the spectacular. The Ohio based producer lasers in on massive Alison Wonderland and M-Phazes hit Messiah for his latest tour de force transformation. Crankdat’s Messiah remix is an epic emotional ride. Its mellifluous electro trap and dramatic future bass takes us to skyscraper heights of heart swelling exhilaration. It’s pretty obvious Crankdat is a messiah himself, of the aurally thrilling type. Snag his new re-crank for free, here.

A totally unexpected heavenly delight surfaced late last week out of the ever turning gears that I call the music machine, a well oiled engine in which immensely gifted musicians, producers, and artists from all across the world often unite to present us with divine surprise presents. Hotel Garuda, the ever popular duo made up of Candle Weather and Manila Killa, has given Röyksopp gem Never Ever, featuring Susanne Sundfør, an effulgent bouncing makeover. The Norwegian electro legends’ chromatic tune dons a fresh new coat of bright eyed felicity on Hotel Garuda’s ecstatic remix, a springy confection we can’t help but dance to… a lot. The track arrives as a part of a new

Röyksopp bundle featuring additional remixes by Sultan Shakes, Fut Coat, Yotto & George Orb. Hotel Garuda’s edit can be purchased from iTunes, here.

I was thrilled when NYC production whiz Jai Wolf linked up with a long time IHM loved synthpop project, MNDR, on a synth dazzling indie dance confection named Like It’s Over. The song can be found on Jai Wolf’s excellent Kindred Spirits EP. We now get to partake in Like It’s Over in a fresh new fashion, thanks to Los Angeles based singer, producer, and multi-media artist Xie. She infuses Like It’s Over with an atmospheric spaciousness on her expansive future bass and melodic trap remix. The result is nothing short of breathtakingly beautiful. MNDR’s vocals seem to relay even more desperate emotion in their more isolated state on Xie’s edit. You can download the remix for free, here.

I’ve never seen a show (or a basketball game) at NYC’s famed venue, Madison Square Garden, unless you count that one time I saw the Rockettes there when I was a little girl with my parents. But I sure wish I had been there when Robotaki debuted his new single Automaton at MSG last year. The Montreal producer dazzles with an array of succulent synths and plump beats on the meditative thriller, a song which fully encapsulates its name. I can only imagine how immense an experience it would have been to be one of the first to hear this song live. Automaton is a cinematic sprawling fusion of crisp melodic bass, nostalgic retrowave, and mecha grinding grittiness. Past, present, and future combine on Automaton, both in its sound and in the vivid tale it recounts. The single, out now on Monstercat, can be purchased from major outlets, here.

The temperature may have dropped to the 40s yet again here in San Francisco, but for just a few minutes, we’re transported to a drafty summer day by New Zealand’s BAYNK as he waxes wistful with new single Poolside. The producer’s glassy glazed, gently thumping electronica is frothy light and soothing smooth. We lounge by that pool under a cool shade, daydreaming the day away as we gaze into its clear sparkly waters under a magnificent blue sky. BAYNK’s Poolside is out now on iTunes.

Tangled up I always am by the music of solo electronic project The Kite String Tangle, who makes a long awaited return with emotionally charged atmospheric opus Selfish. The dense electronic beats found on Danny Harley new song tear at our hearts while Selfish’s future flickering vistas evoke fellow Australian talent Flume and his earlier, less gritty offerings. Along with the silky sweeping new tune comes news that the ARIA nominated artist has launched a new independent record label named Exist. Recordings in collaboration with industry heavyweights UNIFIED. The label’s first signings are ones much beloved by IHM too, namely Golden Vessel and LASTLINGS. We’re eager to hear what they all have to offer next on The Kite String Tangle’s label. Selfish is out now on iTunes.

Let’s toppled off the “deep end” with this emerging 19 year old Australian talent, Vincent Sole, as he croons soulfully over a dramatic swelling soundscape on his smooth new single. Deep End’s wavy euphoric indie electronica glowers yet melts. The song, which was created in collaboration with Malcolm Besley (Northeast Party House, City Calm Down), comes ahead of Vincent Sole’s highly anticipated debut headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney this April. He explains that the song “tells a story about freestyling the rest of my teen years and taking a leap of faith, to lead my life into something bigger.”
