It’s been just over a month since I gleefully caught emerging artist Bloodboy at Popscene, yet it feels like it was but yesterday that I was staring at the stage, mesmerized by Lexie Papillion’s Karen O like charisma. The Los Angeles based surfer turned musician has already given us two of my favorite songs of the year in the form of Human Female and Hey Kid. She now reveals a third indomitable fusion of alt rock and pop punk named Keep Your Disease. This snarling examination of social constructs is fiercely hooking and sexy smoldering. It leaves me hungering passionately for Bloodboy’s debut EP, expected to arrive this fall. I also can’t wait to catch Bloodboy live again.
