Future bass and chill trap might be the “flavor du jours” of the moment, but there’s no denying how much I’m drawn to those subgenres of electronic music, no matter if they happen to be popular at the moment or not. As in any trending genre of music, there’s the good, the bad, and the ugly, and you have to dig around to find the true gems. Well, this one’s not just good, it’s absolutely gorgeous. Aside from the impending Olympics, there’s something else to be excited about in Brazil right now, and his named is I.Y.F.F.E. The producer from Rio delivers atmospheric rousing, ethereal airy future bass on his new original Storm, which also features beautiful vocals by Desiree Dawson, who’s graced us with her voice in the past on many tracks by other artists (ie. Pat Lok, k?d, Bobby Puma). Storm, though dramatic, is ravishing resplendent. It pitter patters in its tender moments, like the soft falling of rain, but it bursts with crackling lightning at its most intensive peaks. A draftiness builds up from its brassy horns, and I find myself in the middle of a powerful and moving sonic “storm” that leaves me exhilarated and cleansed. Storm is a free download, here.
