From the opening horns of Rideback, I knew I was in for a magical experience. The lushly haunting song comes from Canadian singer songwriter Hannah Georgas, who first teased the song in a stunning album trailer, which you can view below. As someone who happens to likes the concepts in existentialism a lot, Rideback is right up my alley with its examination of what ifs and whys, and its lack of answers for such questions. Rideback’s artsy baroque pop evokes the brilliance and complexity of Son Lux, San Fermin, and Dirty Projectors. It’s most certainly a dazzler that lingers long in the air after its last notes fade. The song comes from Hannah Georgas’ full length For Evelyn, due out June 24th on Dine Alone Records and available for pre-ordering on iTunes. You can also stream Rideback off of Soundcloud below For Evelyn’s album trailer.
