From my brief visit to Spain last fall, I know that there’s a flourishing music world in the beautiful country, one that encompasses many genres. Despite this knowledge, it still comes as a bit of a surprise that a five piece from Barcelona named Lancaster is releasing sweeping, energetic alt rock as can be heard on the band’s new riff-tastic song, Dig Me Up, since much of my personal experience with Spanish bands heavily leans into the indie and electronic departments. Drawing influence from Bring Me The Horizon, You Me At Six, and Mallory Knox, Lancaster unleashes melodic synth rocking spirit on the song, revealed through a sleekly filmed music video. The new single was produced, recorded, and mixed by Oz Craggs at Hidden Track Studios in the UK and masteredby Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in America (Bring Me The Horizon, All Time Low). Dig Me Up will be on Lancaster’s forthcoming sophomore album.
