A mysterious new act named Jane XØ made her debut with a gorgeous chill trap and future pop number named Hard To Forget. She explains that “being able to express myself musically without limits, no worries of judgement, no worries of success or failure is why I remain behind the wall of anonymity”. It’s an approach that certainly isn’t new, but her music and her credo somehow reminds me much of another masked emerging talent that I have much respect for named Elohim. All enigmas aside, the fine details of Jane XØ’s identity truly becomes irrelevant in the face of the charisma and magnetism she brings with her first song. There’s no forgetting Jane XØ after Hard To Forget, its mellifluous folds softly glistening with honeyed sentiment despite its confidently glimmering zest.
