Yesterday, Miike Snow premiered a brand new tune. It’s the first new material from the trio in three years, and just the knowledge that new Miike Snow had surfaced had my heart beating a hundred miles an hour. Heart Is Full is the first taste from the Swedish act’s third studio album, simply titled III. It’s also a ginormous departure from 2012 album Happy To You. I was pleasantly surprised by its funky soul and trip hop cadence, something I certainly did not expect on the track. The bombastic energy of the song are distinctly Miike Snow, but this is a retro flavored, Phantogram tinged Miike Snow we haven’t heard before, and it’s a jolt of rousing electricity. Stream Heart Is Full on Spotify above or Soundcloud below. Third album III is due out in 2016, and I’m eager to hear what they have in store for us on the rest of the album.

Nowadays, in the influential, colossal world of video gaming, music plays a large role, too. We’ve seen how incredible some of the soundtracks for certain games have been. Despite this, I did not expect the latest Tomb Raider game to sign on the great Karen O for its soundtrack. Karen O pens and delivers a glorious new tune for Rise Of The Tomb Raider named I Shall Rise. It’s a fiery slice of cabaret theatrics and Spaghetti Western dramatics. Yes, Karen O is super rad on the ferocious, dauntless song. Rise Of The Tomb Raider releases on November 10th. Gamer boys and girls are going to eat it up in joy.

There’s no doubt in my mind that producer and vocalist duo BONNIE X CLYDE are partners in crime to watch. They newcomers grabbed hold of my electronic and trap hungry attention this morning with a new edit of RL Grime’s The Hills remix, but I was even more drawn into their sound when I visited recent original Rise Above, a trap and future bass extravaganza with much endearing vocals. EDM festival heads will appreciate the sheer power of the track, while homebodies will love the enchanting properties of the wistful melody. If XYLØ went full on trap, this might be how they’d sound. Download Rise Above for free, here. Then jump into Bonnie X Clyde’s edit of RL Grime’s The Hills below for some bonus trap thrills.

It comes as no surprise that NGHTMRE has blown up this year. The Southern California producer knows how to lay it down wihen it comes to earth shaking trap anthems. I’ve yet to catch the producer live, but I have a feeling I’d have a heavenly time at one of his sets, considering my love of high energy trap and electronic music. NGHTMRE’s latest jaw dropping thriller is a remix of GRiZ’s Stop Trippin’. I simply refuse to stop tripping to this colossal festival banger that takes full advantage of the soulful and funky elements on GRiZ’s original. Exhilarating drops, springy guitar, and booming percussion make this one incredibly fun and satisfying. Free download, here.

Son Lux’s riveting trip hop and orchestral pop music is not easy material for remixing. Dutch producer Jailo does a mind melting, brain twisting turn on Son Lux’s You Don’t Know Me that implodes with visceral energy and haunting darkness. The Moving Castle collective member has crafted a frenetic trap remix of Son Lux’s song that storms aggressively and unmercifully. The thundering remix is theatrical and ravenous. Suddenly, I feel like I’m a warrior, ready to face any impending battle.

The melody on New Zealand artist Avalanche City’s Inside Out is as honeyed and infectious as anything I’ve heard all year. It’s no surprise that the song serves as fantastic remix fodder for hook hungry producers. German deep house producer Niklas Ibach infuses Inside Out with a chill bounce on his official remix, creating a saccharine dance track steeped in heart rending nostalgia. The remixes’ flaring, horn like synths momentarily lifts aching hearts out of bitter despair.

Canadian duo Bob Moses dropped a video for swanky good tune Tearing Me Up, a must revisit off a spectacular debut album named Days Gone By out on Domino. It’s near impossible not to sway and snap along to the cool strut of the sumptuous alt and electro soul jam reminiscent of Chet Faker and Ben Khan. Days Gone By is so good that I brought that album along with me on my trip to Europe.

When I see the word “hoops”, my first thought is basketball, but obviously, that’s not what JONES is going for on her compelling new song Hoops. The soulful East Londoner has been impressing us with her crisp, crystalline voice and moving music since a year ago, and she delivers once again on the new soulful electropop song. Hoops is taken from debut album New Skin, due for release in Spring 2016 via 37 Adventures. The beautiful production on Hoops was turned in by XO and Josh Record. Hoops is a commanding torrent of contagious grandeur and power. The single is available now on iTunes.

British duo Tender tends to remind me of Jungle, with some of the psychedelic properties of Tame Impala. But Tender’s funky rich sound is more lo-fi cushioned. Tender slow burns far more deliberately and sultrily in a thick, luxurious padding of atmospheric spaciousness. On new single Belong, those qualities are amplified. Belong drifts and billows in a misty fog. It’s a gentle groover that lives up to the duo’s name. It’s also the final track on Tender’s critically acclaimed Armour EP, available on iTunes.

German duo COMA bring us more of their techno flavored indie electronic on new single Happiness. Despite its name, Happiness meanders softly with a fragile sadness encapsulated in an introspective dreaminess. The entrancing song takes on a Caribou like layered complexity as it progresses, complete with verdant jungle vibes and hypnotic vocal chops. The song is the second single from COMA’s sophomore album This Side Of Paradise, out now.
