While I’ll be out traveling and catching some live music elsewhere a portion of this month, a part of me is also very sad about missing a bevy of great shows here at home. One such gig I’m kicking myself for having to miss is Oscar’s San Francisco debut at Popscene later this month. His brand of scuzzy indie Brit pop has been thrilling me for a year now, and I’m still very much obsessed over earlier songs Beautiful Words and Daffodil Days. Oscar follows up on his Beautiful Words EP this past summer with his first new single, a scrappy yet sleek treat named Breaking My Phone, a song some of my phone problem prone friends would likely appreciate very much. You can purchase Oscar’s latest brilliant tune on iTunes now. And if you’re around, go check him out at Popscene on Friday October 9th for me. Aquilo plays that night, too. I’ll go cry in the corner now.
