It being the holidays and the end of 2014, new tracks and emails have slowed down their march into my inbox and ears. This doesn’t mean I stop finding goodies, including stuff I may have missed earlier in the year. One such band that I had the fortune of discovering in my exciting hunt for good music is a UK band named Demons Of Ruby Mae. The duo formed in 2012 after leaving their former band The Chairmen. As Demons Of Ruby Mae, they create haunting electronic tinged alternative rock, and their single Beneath The Surface is a cinematic, passionate swell of gripping sound. Its gradual build up, raw vocals, and glossy synths remind me at times of The Bravery. A debut EP is on its way for January, and I’m quite excited to check it out.
