Another day, another LIZ track off the Southern California artist’s EP Just Like You, out today on Mad Decent. As with the other tunes, this one’s gorgeously produced by a guest, this time by WEEP. LIZ has worked with an impressive list of talented producers, including Ryan Hemsworth, Lido, and Mr. Carmack. Turn Around is an intoxicating, sparkling bedroom R&B tune off what has turned out to be an awesome EP.

If you’re familiar with Los Angeles duo Vindata, you know that they put forth some fantastic, textured downtempo compositions. Vindata released an excellent EP last year titled Paradigms with four exquisite, atmospheric electronic and hip hop tinged tunes. Today, they dropped the first cut off their upcoming new EP For One To Follow, and it features British songstress Kenzie May on vocals. All I Really Need boats an irresistible chorus and slick chill trap/future bass leaning, sparkling production. With all the amazing production of this kind coming out of Australia and elsewhere, it sure is nice to know we have such talent right here in California. Check out Paradigms track Being below, too.

Chicago duo IDYLL is a fresh new duo on the scene. Trouble is their bewitching debut single, and it’s an intriguing listen that kept me captivated with its off kilter rhythm and beats. It’s a shadowy, yet sensual tune with some Scandinavian like undertones. It’s almost surprising they’re from Chicago. Chilly, fluid vocals and a haunting, exotic melody remind me of acts like Bjork, or more eccentric, less pop leaning Oh Land, maybe even a touch of recent Goldfrapp. My curiosity is certainly piqued, and I await more music from IDYLL.

From Australian synthpop, we go to Los Angeles synthpop, in the form of DWNTWN. The previously featured trio is all set to release a new self titled EP come April 29 on Julian Records. It follows on the heels of last year’s The Red Room EP. Til Tomorrow is the first song off the new EP, and it’s a charming, warm, sunburst of an alt pop song. It’s a dreamy, breezy listen with gorgeous vocal harmonies from a band that showed much potential for some time now and continues to make an impression. Revisit last year’s catchy Stood Me Up below.

Australian synthpop act Panama has finally released their Always EP stateside, and it’s taken far too long. They first woo’ed me with their dreamy synthpop music nearly a year ago, and quickly became one of my favorite new synthpop acts from Down Under. I still can’t get over how wonderful the title track Always is, and from what I’ve heard, there are many music inclined folks who love the tune too. The US version of the Always EP includes a bonus track that they’ve played with great success in live sets. Stream the intoxicating Strange Feeling above, complete with its sexy, passionate sax. I hope I can catch these guys live this year. Revisit Always, here.
