Ladies and gents, A Fire Inside is back. It’s been four years since their last album Crash Love, seven years since Decemberunderground, one of my favorite albums of the mid-2000s. Though Davey Havok has kept himself busy with other projects and collaborations, I’ve missed him in AFI. Stream their brand new song I Hope You Suffer, which comes out as a single on July 23 on Republic Records. It’s a preview off their coming as of yet untitled ninth studio album out this fall. It’s a powerful, explosive rock song replete with harsh vocals and a certain darkness that some may have felt was lacking in the pop leaning Crash Love. As a far greater fan of Decemberunderground than Crash Love, I’m happy and eager to hear more of the new album later this year!
