Another new Cansei de ser Sexy tune

May 31, 2013

We heard lead single Hangover off Portuguese band CSS’ new album Planta, out on June 11, and it was a fun, catchy, bust out the drinks ready tune. However, I’m digging this new preview off Planta a TON more. Into The Sun is a more dialed down, synthy, new wavey one with a chanty Lovefoxxx delivering some infectious lines. It’s a fantastic jam and suddenly, I’m looking forward to Planta a whole lot more.

Ah YES! Disclosure’s Confess To You feat. Jessie Ware!

May 31, 2013

I said I’d try to find another version I can share! Here it is! My previous share of a vimeo clip of Disclosure’s song Confess To Me featuring Jessie Ware was defunct after the first day or so. This song is just too good to keep away from y’all. Plus, I really wanted to find it so I could listen to it again. Over and over and over. It’s off the hot buzzing UK future garage duo’s debut album Settle which comes out next week!

Cayucas on Amsterdam Acoustics

May 31, 2013

This is great. Amsterdam Acoustics is a music film series on YouTube, and I credit it for my first intro to The xx many years ago (about four?) when The xx was relatively obscure and I stumbled upon their little acoustic performance on Amsterdam Acoustics. This week, SoCal indie pop band Cayucas was featured on their series. Here they are performing a wonderful rendition of their song East Coast Girl. The charming session and acoustic vibes made me think very much of Vampire Weekend with a touch of some folksier bands like Beirut.

Cayucas just dropped their debut album Bigfoot off Secretly Canadian very recently. Though they’ve been on my radar awhile, I never got around to introing them on I Heart Moosiq. I could’ve sworn I had their single Cayucos and some other vids lined up for a feature post… Ran out of time, I guess. So, there you have it. Check these guys out. They’re pretty cool. They tend to somewhat evoke Vampire Weekend for me overall, but with far more of a beachy SoCal surf pop feel, less of the VW yacht feel.

OFFICIAL VID: Pacific Air – Move

May 31, 2013

It been about a week since I caught Los Angeles indie pop act Pacific Air live and posted some great tidbits about them the next day, but here we are again. The act was once known as KOKO and was founded by two brothers. The live act includes several more touring members. Today, the brothers give us a video for their catchy song Move. These guys are going to gain even more buzz as we draw closer to the release of their debut album Stop Talking, which comes out soon on June 11 off Republic Records. All their songs I’ve heard so far are good, and the band was electrifying and energetic live. Float is still my favorite Pacific Air song.

Electrify and funkify that French house!

May 30, 2013

Phoenix’s Trying To Be Cool, off recent album Bankrupt, is already a fantastic French house track. So, what happens when French producer Breakbot of Ed Banger Records remixes the track? THIS. French electro house funk and nu-disco to the max!

I haven’t posted about Portland dream poppers Pure Bathing Culture since fall of last year right before they dropped a self titled EP. They now have a debut full length album titled Moon Tides lined up for release come August 19, and the lead single is some delicious, lo-fi, lazed out, warm music. Pendulum is intoxicating and perfect for a languid, relaxed moment.
