Shifting to the Northwest with a brand new song from Seattle indie rock band Telekinesis, led by Michael Benjamin Lerner. I loved their 2011 album 12 Desperate Straight Lines, so my heart skipped a beat to find that they had new material out. The interesting thing is that the opening instrumental moments remind me of Macklemore x Ryan Lewis, their fellow Seattlelites. Then Lerner’s vocals kick in, and the song becomes far more pop than some of his previous work. Ghosts and Creatures will be on Telekinesis’ third studio album Dormarion. It was produced by Spoon drummer Jim Eno and will be out in a few months. The song is definitely far more woozy and synthy than I remember 12 Desperate Straight Lines to be, so I’m mega curious how the rest of the album sounds. I’ll be purchasing it, for sure.

Since it’s been ages since I’ve listened to their older work, there’s no better moment to share one of my favorite tracks off 12 Desperate Straight Lines. This one was loads of fun to blast loudly in the car.
